I consider myself unique in many ways. I am very attractive but not obsessed about my looks, I consider myself to be highly intelligent but not an intellectual snob. I write about philosophical issues but I am very down to earth as a person. I am very serious about pressing matters of our time but I don’t take life or myself too seriously. Although I was born and raised in India, I have lived in the States for 25-plus years in Kansas City, Minneapolis, and Washington DC prior to relocating to the Los Angeles area in 2006. At present, I am a tenured professor in a private university in LA, where I teach courses in communications studies. One of my favorite courses is about learning how to be effective communicators in dealing with people from different cultures.

Thanks to my parents, both of whom were highly creative and had a strong sense of aesthetics, I have developed a profound appreciation for beauty in all forms, shapes and color. From my parents, who were always immaculately dressed, I have learned the importance of looking elegant in an understated and unpretentious manner.

I have wanderlust to travel and learn about other cultures. I love the Chinese culture and visiting China is high on my list. In fact, I was in Hong Kong this past summer and I had a wonderful time there. I am also an avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction. I love watching movies anything from foreign films to Hollywood classics and blockbusters. I also enjoy going to concerts, museums, and the beach. I love to cook and entertain friends for dinner or high tea. My taste in music is pretty eclectic. I listen to R&B, classic rock, big band, and world music (chinese, Indian and others), depending on my mood.
